HAVEN’s mission is to assist prospective homebuyers in achieving the American dream by increasing homeownership rates in underserved communities. This largely would be achieved by reforming public policy so innovative strategies could be implemented for the purpose of eliminating roadblocks to affordability.
How will HAVEN accomplish its mission?
This mission largely would be achieved by reforming public
policy so innovative strategies could be implemented for the
purpose of eliminating roadblocks to housing affordability. The
eradication of these barriers would be a collaborative effort between
public and private partnerships inclusive of citizen participation from
marginalized urban centers and neglected rural communities.
Through our research, analysis and revamping of existing
public policy that effect the five Key Pillars identified by HAVEN, will
create long-term individual wealth while simultaneously building
economically viable, culturally strong, sustainable communities.

Ownership
At Haven, we believe that homeownership is a powerful tool for building equity, stability, and generational wealth within communities. One of our key pillars is empowering individuals and families to achieve the dream of owning their own home through education, counseling, and financial assistance programs.
Entrepreneurship
Through our entrepreneurship initiatives, we provide comprehensive support and resources to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners, many of whom come from low-income and marginalized backgrounds. Our programs offer business plan development assistance, access to microloans and startup capital, mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs, and connections to local networks and resources.
community reinvestment
Through our community investment initiatives, we direct resources and support towards underserved and marginalized communities, addressing the interconnected challenges they face. Our efforts span economic development programs that foster job creation and small business growth, educational initiatives that provide access to quality learning opportunities, and healthcare initiatives that promote overall well-being.
economic empowerment
Through our economic empowerment initiatives, we work to increase access to education, job training, financial coaching and other resources that build skills for employment and economic independence. Whether it’s vocational training programs, literacy education for adults, or access to financing and support to start a small business, our programs aim to equip our community with the means to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
Self-determination
Through our self-determination initiatives, we prioritize community engagement, participatory decision-making, and capacity-building programs. We actively seek input from residents, ensuring their perspectives and aspirations inform our affordable housing solutions, community development plans, and supportive service offerings.
